Phases of phoren soap and other artworks
A set of illustrations that draw their wit and whimsy from a book of short stories and plays titled, Bhupen Khakhar. Inspired by the guileless humour, gentle irony and erotic comedy, the artworks attempt to bring alive the follies, foibles, dreams and desires of a motley bunch of characters that populate its pages. Visually interpreted keeping in mind his keen observations of the inner lives of individuals and the places that they inhabit, these works are my tribute to Bhupen Khakhar (1934 - 2003), one of the most distinctive, courageous and multifaceted artists of our times.
